These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of connecticutroofingandmasonry.com (the "Site"), operated by CT Roof & Masonry Network ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing the Site or submitting a request through it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
This is the most important term in this document. CT Roof & Masonry Network is an independent directory and referral service. We are not a home improvement contractor, mason, roofer, engineer, inspector or insurance adjuster. We are not registered or licensed to perform home improvement work in Connecticut or anywhere else, and we do not hold ourselves out as being so.
We do not perform, supervise, inspect, manage, warrant or guarantee any work. We do not set contractor pricing, control scheduling, verify workmanship, or hold funds. Every contractor referenced, listed or introduced through the Site is an independent third-party business, solely responsible for its own registration, licensing, insurance, permits, employees, subcontractors, pricing, materials, workmanship, warranties and compliance with law.
Any agreement for work is solely between you and the contractor. We are not a party to it, not an agent of either party, and not a guarantor of either party's performance. Disputes about price, quality, delay, damage, warranty or payment must be resolved between you and the contractor.
Being listed on the Site, or being introduced to you following a request, does not constitute an endorsement, certification, recommendation, or assessment of quality, competence, registration status, insurance status or financial standing by us. We do not independently verify contractor credentials.
You are responsible for your own due diligence before hiring anyone. At minimum, verify the contractor's current Home Improvement Contractor registration with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, obtain a certificate of insurance directly from the insurer, get the full scope and price in writing, confirm who is pulling any required permit with your town's building department, and tie payments to progress.
When you submit a request form, you authorise us to transmit the information in that request to one or more independent contractors serving your area so they can contact you. More than one contractor may receive your request and more than one may contact you. We do not guarantee that any contractor will respond, that a response will arrive within any particular time, that any quote will be provided, or that any work will be performed.
Statements on the Site about response speed or emergency availability describe how requests are routed, not a contractual service level. Availability depends on the contractor, the time of day, the weather and demand, for example, no responsible contractor will put a person on a roof during a lightning storm or high wind.
By submitting a request you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that the telephone number and email address you provide are yours or that you are authorised to provide them, and that the information you provide is accurate. Consent to be contacted, including by automated means, and how to revoke it, is described in our Privacy Policy.
Business listings, ratings and review excerpts shown on city pages are supplied by Google and are attributed as such. We do not author, edit, verify or endorse that content, and it may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate. Where no such data has been loaded for a location, no businesses are shown: we do not substitute placeholder or example businesses. We publish no reviews of our own.
Guides, service pages, emergency pages, FAQs and other written content on the Site are general information about masonry and roofing in Connecticut. They are not engineering, construction, legal, insurance or safety advice, and they are not a substitute for an on-site assessment by a qualified professional. Building codes, permit requirements, contractor registration rules and insurance terms change and vary by town and by policy.
Confirm anything that matters with your local building department, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, a licensed professional engineer, or your own insurer. Never rely on this Site, or on a contractor's assertion - for an insurance claim deadline; confirm it directly with your insurer.
Safety: do not act on emergency guidance in a way that puts you at risk. Do not climb onto a wet, icy or storm-damaged roof, do not approach downed power lines, do not enter a structure that may be compromised, and call 911 in a life-threatening emergency. Emergency steps described on this Site are general precautions, not instructions to perform work yourself.
You agree not to: submit false, fraudulent or third-party information without authorisation; submit requests you do not genuinely intend to pursue; scrape, harvest, mirror or bulk-copy Site content; use automated means to submit forms; interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or its infrastructure; or use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
The Site's text, layout, design and compilation are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and print pages for your own non-commercial use. You may not otherwise reproduce, republish or distribute Site content without written permission. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners and are used, where they appear, only to identify those parties.
The Site and all content on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy or availability. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any information on it is complete, current or correct.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CT Roof & Masonry Network and its owners, officers, employees and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, property or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Site or to any interaction, agreement, work or dispute involving a contractor introduced through the Site, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Site shall not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CT Roof & Masonry Network and its owners, officers, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or any dispute between you and a contractor.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Connecticut shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Site, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in these Terms waives any right you may have under the consumer protection laws of the state in which you reside.
We may modify or discontinue the Site, or any part of it, at any time. We may revise these Terms at any time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
